2023–24 Illinois State Redbirds Women's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Illinois State Redbirds women's basketball team represented Illinois State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Redbirds, led by seventh-year head coach Kristen Gillespie, played their home games at CEFCU Arena in Normal, Illinois as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. Previous season The Redbirds finished the 2022–23 season 24–9, 17–3 in MVC play to finish in a tie for first place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated Murray State in the quarterfinals, before being upset by eventual tournament champions Drake in the semifinals. They received an automatic bid into the WNIT, where they would lose to Missouri in the first round. CEFCU Arena
CEFCU Arena, formerly known as Redbird Arena, is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena located in Normal, Illinois, on the campus of Illinois State University. Built in 1989, the building is notable for its use of a Teflon-coated roof that gives off a "glow" during night events. Three Illinois State Redbirds athletic teams use the facility as their home court: men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. The arena was renamed CEFCU Arena after the school and CEFCU agreed to a 10-year naming rights deal, starting with the 2023-24 academic year. Sports Illinois State is one of just 10 college volleyball programs to draw more than 250,000 fans in the last decade. Moberly Area Community College (MACC) is a public community college based in Moberly, Missouri. In addition to the Moberly campus, MACC has four campuses across a large portion of Northeastern and central Mid-Missouri regions of the state of Missouri: Columbia, Hannibal, Kirksville, and Mexico. Incarnate Word Academy is a Roman Catholic, private, secondary school for girls. The school is sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Normal Community High School (NCHS or Normal Community) is a public high school located in Normal, Illinois that was founded in 1905. NCHS serves parts of Normal, Bloomington, and Towanda and is home to over 2,000 students (grades 9–12) with 150 faculty and staff. History Normal Community High School was founded in 1905. Bradley Braves Women's Basketball
The Bradley Braves women's basketball team represents Bradley University, located in Peoria, Illinois, United States, in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I basketball competition. They currently compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. History Bradley began play in 1975. They made the 2011 Women's Basketball Invitational. In their only postseason appearance as of 2017, they lost to Minnesota 85–59 in the First Round. The Braves have an all-time record (as of the end of the 2015–16 season) of 504–611.
