2023–24 High Point Panthers Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 High Point Panthers men's basketball team represented High Point University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Panthers, led by first-year head coach Alan Huss, played their home games at the Qubein Center in High Point, North Carolina as members of the Big South Conference. Previous season The Panthers finished the 2022–23 season 14–17, 6–12 in Big South play, to finish in eighth place. They were defeated by Charleston Southern in the first round of the Big South tournament. On March 3, 2023, the school fired head coach G. G. Smith after only one season at the helm. On March 27, the school named Creighton assistant coach Alan Huss as the team's new head coach. Alan Huss
Alan Huss (born January 15, 1979) is an American basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team. He previously served as head coach at High Point from 2023 to 2025. Playing career Huss played for North Kansas City High School where he averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds per game his senior year. Huss then played college basketball at Creighton under Dana Altman from 1997 to 2001 where he was teammates with Kyle Korver and part of three NCAA tournament teams. He played in 94 games over the four years averaging 3.2 points per game. Coaching career High school and assistant coaching Huss entered coaching at the high school ranks in 2004, working his way up to becoming the head coach at Culver Military Academy in 2007 before moving on to La Lumiere School. The Pfeiffer Falcons are the athletic teams that represent Pfeiffer University, located in Misenheimer, North Carolina, in intercollegiate sports at the Division III ranks of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Ernie Zeigler
Ernest Franklin Zeigler II (born January 31, 1966) is an American college basketball coach, currently an assistant at the University of Nebraska. He spent the previous eight seasons as an assistant coach at Mississippi State, and prior to that was the men's head coach at Central Michigan University. He received a Bachelor's in Business Management from Cleary College in 1994. He played collegiately at Schoolcraft College (1984–86), Armstrong Atlantic State University (1986–87) and Northwood University (1987–88).
