2023–24 Georgia Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team represented the University of Georgia during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Bulldogs, were led by second-year head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson and played their home games at Stegeman Coliseum as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Previous season The Lady Bulldogs finished the 2022–23 season 22–12, 9–7 in SEC play, to finish in three-way tie for fifth place. They defeated Auburn in the second round of the SEC tournament, before falling to LSU in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament, receiving the #10 seed in the Seattle Regional 4. Katie Abrahamson-Henderson
Kay Noel "Katie" Abrahamson-Henderson (born December 23, 1966) is the current head coach of the University of Georgia's women's basketball team. Early years Abrahamson-Henderson attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, graduating in 1985. She was a basketball player, averaging 44 points per game and earning a place (1992) in the Washington Warriors Hall of Fame. She was named an All-American on both the Parade and USA Today teams, and ranked as one of the top five basketball players in the nation as a senior. She was also on the swim team, and considered attending college as a swimmer, but instead chose to focus on basketball. While in high school, she competed in the Iowa State Championships and placed first in the 50 yard freestyle, the 100 yard freestyle, and the freestyle relay. Penn State Lady Lions Basketball
The Penn State Lady Lions basketball team represents Pennsylvania State University and plays its home games in the Bryce Jordan Center. In 2013, the Lady Lions became just the 12th program in NCAA Division I history to reach 850 wins. Penn State has won 8 regular season Big Ten titles and the first 2 Big Ten tournament titles in 1995 and 1996. Prior to joining the Big Ten, the Lady Lions competed in the Atlantic 10 conference. Hamden is a town in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. The town's nickname is "The Land of the Sleeping Giant". The town is part of the South Central Connecticut Planning Region. The population was 61,169 at the 2020 census. History The peaceful tribe of Quinnipiacs were the first residents of the land that is now Hamden; they had great regard, awe and veneration for the Blue Hills Sleeping Giant Mountain. The Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team represents Vanderbilt University in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Commodores have never won the regular season SEC championship, although they have won six SEC tournament titles (1993, 1995, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2009); the SEC has awarded its official championship based solely on regular-season record since the 1985–86 season.
