2023–24 Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by head coach, Anthony Grant, in his seventh season with the Flyers. The Flyers played their home games at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team drew an average home attendance of 13,407 in 15 games in 2023–24, the 20th highest in college basketball. Previous season The Flyers finished the 2022–23 season 20–11, 12–6 in A-10 play, to finish a three-way tie for second place. They defeated Saint Joseph's in the quarterfinals and Fordham in the semifinals, before losing to VCU in the championship game of the A-10 tournament. Anthony Grant (basketball)
Anthony Duvale Grant (born April 15, 1966) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Dayton. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2006 to 2009, and at the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2015. Prior to becoming the VCU head coach, he was an assistant coach at the University of Florida from 1996 to 2006. Biography Early life After graduating from Miami Senior High School, Grant became an All-City first-team selection and Player-of-the-Year. 2023 National Invitation Tournament
The 2023 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA tournament. The tournament began on March 14 and ended on March 30. The first three rounds were played on campuses, with the semifinal and championship final played at Orleans Arena in the Las Vegas Valley. Participants Teams and parings for the 2023 NIT were released by the NIT Committee on Sunday, March 12. Thirty-two teams qualified for the NIT, both automatic qualifiers and at-large selections. Toumani Camara ( ; born 8 May 2000) is a Belgian professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
