2023–24 California Baptist Lancers Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 California Baptist Lancers men's basketball team represented California Baptist University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by eleventh-year head coach Rick Croy and played their games at Fowler Events Center in Riverside, California as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 16–17, 8–12 in WAC play, to finish in eighth place. As the No. 8 seed in the WAC tournament, they defeated Utah Valley in the first round, before losing to Seattle in the quarterfinals. Previous season The Lancers finished the 2022–23 season 17–16, 8–10 in WAC play, to finish in eighth place. Rick Croy
Richard K. Croy (born July 19, 1977) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the California Baptist Lancers men's basketball team. Croy has been a basketball coach since 1999 and has held his current position at California Baptist since 2013. Croy grew up in Walnut Creek, California and played college basketball at San Francisco State. He began his basketball coaching career as an assistant at UC Riverside and Concordia University Irvine. His first head coaching position was at the junior college level at Citrus College from 2005 to 2010. Under Croy, Citrus won 130 games, three conference titles, and a California state championship. At California Baptist, Croy led the Lancers to five straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances from 2014 to 2018 and two Pacific West Conference titles. San Francisco State Gators
The San Francisco State Gators are the athletic teams that compete at San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California. The nickname applies to the college's intercollegiate NCAA Division II teams. The nickname was published in the student newspaper, "The Leaf", but was long referred to in media alternatively as the "Staters" and the "Golden Gaters". The use of Gaters eventually evolved into the Gators as known today. The Gators have had a total of 275 athletes earn All-American honors and 34 athletes earn Academic All-American honors. 14 Gators have earned an individual national title in their respective sport. Prosper is a suburb in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Prosper is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As of the 2010 census, its population was 9,423. As of 2023, the population was 37,746. History The first settlers arrived in 1846 to farm cotton in the black fertile prairie soil.
