2023–24 Abilene Christian Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Abilene Christian Wildcats men's basketball team represented Abilene Christian University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wildcats, led by third-year head coach Brette Tanner, played their home games at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 16–18, 10–10 in WAC play, to finish in a tie for sixth place. As the No. 7 seed in the WAC tournament, they lost to Stephen F. Austin in the first round. They received an invitation to the CIT, where they defeated Texas A&M–Corpus Christi in the first round, before losing to fellow WAC member Tarleton in the quarterfinals. Brette Tanner
Brette Tanner (born November 7, 1975) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Abilene Christian Wildcats men's basketball, Abilene Christian Wildcats, a position he has held since 2021. He played collegiately at Emporia State Hornets basketball, Emporia State from 1996 to 1998. Tanner served as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks basketball, Stephen F. Austin. He was hired as an assistant coach at Abilene Christian in 2013, as the school transitioned to Division I.
