2023 World Table Tennis Championships – Women's Doubles
The women's doubles competition of the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships was held from 20 to 27 May 2023. The event was played as a straight knockout. All doubles matches were best of 5 games. Seeds Doubles events had 16 seeded pairs. The Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre Complex often abbreviated as ICC Durban is a large events facility located in the city centre of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is named after 1960 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former president of the African National Congress, Inkosi Albert Luthuli. Sarah De Nutte
Sarah De Nutte (born 21 November 1992) is a professional Luxembourgish table tennis player and the most successful Luxembourgish table tennis player so far. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics and won the women's doubles bronze medal at the 2021 World Table Tennis Championships alongside Ni Xia Lian. Since 1995, she is the first and only native European woman to win a medal at the world table tennis championships in women's doubles. She is the current World No. 3 in women's doubles alongside Ni Xia Lian. In June 2022, she was awarded the Knight Order of the Oak Crown by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for her performances for her country. Manika Batra (born 15 June 1995) is an Indian table tennis player. As of November 2020, she is the top-ranked female table tennis player in India and ranked 44th in the world as of November 22. She was awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna in 2020. Early life Batra was born on 15 June 1995 as the youngest of three children. She hails from Naraina Vihar in Delhi and began playing table tennis at the age of four. Her elder sister Anchal and elder brother Sahil both played table tennis, with Anchal having an influence on her during her early playing career. After winning a match in a state-level under-8 tournament, Batra decided to train under coach Sandeep Gupta who suggested her to switch to Hans Raj Model School where he ran his academy. Doo Hoi Kem (; born 27 November 1996) is a Hong Kong table tennis player. She won two medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and she was a member of Hong Kong women's team at the 2014 World Team Championships. In 2015, she won a bronze medal in mixed doubles event with Wong Chun Ting at the World Championships. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event, in which she was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Li Xiaoxia, and as part of the Chinese Taipei team in the women's team event.
