2023 Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 Women's T20 World Cup was the eighth edition of Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It was held in South Africa between 10 February and 26 February 2023. The final took place at Cape Town. Australia won their sixth and third consecutive title after beating the hosts South Africa in the final by 19 runs. Teams and qualification In December 2020 the ICC confirmed the qualification process for the tournament. South Africa automatically qualified for the tournament as the hosts. They were joined by the seven highest ranked teams in the ICC Women's T20I Rankings, as of 30 November 2021, who competed at the 2020 Women's T20 World Cup in Australia. The remaining two teams were Ireland and Bangladesh, the finalists of the qualifying tournament. Gqeberha ( , ), formerly named Port Elizabeth, and colloquially referred to as P.E., is a major seaport and the most populous city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Vrinda Ghanshyam Rathi (born 14 February 1989) is an Indian cricket umpire. She is currently a member of Development Panel of ICC Umpires. She was one of the female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. On 10 January 2023, she along with Narayanan Janani and Gayathri Venugopalan became the first woman umpires to stand as an on-field umpire in a men's domestic fixture in India, when she was one of the umpires in the match between Goa and Pondicherry in the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy. Nimali Perera (born 13 December 1990) is a Sri Lankan cricket umpire. She is currently a member of Development Panel of ICC Umpires. She was one of the female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Perera played for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club in domestic cricket. Anna Yolanda Harris (born 15 October 1998) is an English cricket umpire and cricketer. Harris began umpiring top-level cricket in 2020, and umpired her first international match in 2021. She has also played domestic cricket for Wales, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Personal life In 2021, Harris was a 2nd-year medical student at Cardiff University, as well as serving as a healthcare support worker, including treating patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Kim Cotton (born 24 February 1978) is a New Zealand cricket umpire. In August 2018, she stood in matches in the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier tournament, and the following month was added to the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. Umpiring career In October 2018, she was named as one of the twelve on-field umpires for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20. Lauren Agenbag (born 16 August 1996) is a South African cricket umpire. Since February 2019, she has set several firsts in regards to women's umpiring in international and domestic cricket matches. Career On 1 February 2019, Agenbag stood in the opening Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) match between South Africa and Sri Lanka, at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. In doing so, she became the first South African woman to umpire a T20I match. Shandre Alvida Fritz (born 21 July 1985) is a South African former cricketer and current match referee. She played as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler.
