2023 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2023 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 28th edition of the tournament, and was played from 29 August to 3 September 2023 in Quebec City, Canada. The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship as the NORCECA representatives. Brenda Castillo
Brenda Castillo (born June 5, 1992, in San Cristóbal) is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic and plays as a libero. She was a member of the Dominican Republic national team that won fifth place in the 2012 Summer Olympics, while she was named the tournament's Best Libero. She played in the 2014 World Championship reaching also the fifth place and ranking 17th in the 2010 World Championship and the 2011 FIVB World Cup where her national team ranked eight and the 2015 FIVB World Cup, winning the Best Libero individual award and ranking in seventh place. She won the silver medal at the 2009 U20 World Championship, 2013 U23 World Championship and Bronze in the 2009 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup and the 2015 Pan American Games. She won the gold medal of the 2009 NORCECA Championship, 2010 Final Four and the 2010 and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games. Brie Joy King (; born January 24, 1998) is a Canadian volleyball player and musician. She is part of the Canadian women's national volleyball team. Professionally, she plays for Brazilian club Sesc-RJ/Flamengo. Personal life King is the youngest of 5 children born to Mark and Laura O'Reilly. Her sister Lauren Carrasco (née O'Reilly) also played volleyball at TWU and for Team Canada. King is a Christian, and attends Christian Life Assembly in Langley with her family. Jordan Thompson (volleyball)
Jordan Mackenzie Thompson (born May 5, 1997) is an American volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team and Turkish Women's Volleyball League team VakıfBank Istanbul. Thompson played collegiate volleyball with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats from 2015 to 2019. Thompson won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Personal life Thompson was born in Edina, Minnesota, to parents Tyrone Doleman and Mary Thompson. Alexa Gray
Alexa Lea Gray (born August 7, 1994) is a Canadian volleyball player. She is part of the Canadian women's national volleyball team. Professionally, she plays for Series A1 Italian league Imoco Volley Conegliano. Personal life Gray attended high school at Centennial High School in Calgary. She began playing volleyball in sixth grade and played for Calgary Dinos women’s volleyball club and helped them to U15 and U17 provincial champ titles and U16 and U17 national champ title. She also played rugby and basketball in high school. Gray has attributed her motivation to her late mother, Stacey French. Her mother was also an athlete and played basketball at Southern Utah. Kiera Van Ryk (born January 6, 1999) is a Canadian volleyball player. She is part of the Canadian women's national volleyball team. She participated at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2018 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup, and 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup.
