2023 Women's Euro Hockey League
The 2023 Women's Euro Hockey League was the third edition of the Women's Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier women's club field hockey tournament, organized by the European Hockey Federation. Amsterdam were the defending champions, having won their first title in the previous edition. They failed to qualify for this year's edition. The tournament was hosted by Pinoké at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands from 6 to 10 April 2023 alongside the men's Final8. The draw was held on 14 December 2022. Den Bosch won their second EHL title by defeating Club de Campo 1–0 in the final. Association team allocation A total of 8 teams from 6 of the 45 EHF member associations would participate in the 2023 EHL Women. Surbiton Hockey Club is a professional field hockey club based in Long Ditton, Surrey, England. The club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in the world, being established in 1874. The home ground is based in Long Ditton, at Sugden Road. The women's team have been champions of England on nine occasions and the men's team have been champions of England three times. The 2021–22 Women's Belgian Hockey League was the 96th season of the Women's Belgian Hockey League, the top women's Belgian field hockey league. The season started on 5 September 2021 and concluded on 8 May 2022 with the second match of the championship final. La Gantoise HC, Gantoise are the defending champions. La Gantoise HC, also known as Gantoise, is a Belgian professional sports club based in Ghent. The club is most well known for its field hockey section, with both the first men's and women's teams playing in the Men's Belgian Hockey League, Belgian Hockey League. History While La Gantoise was originally founded in 1864, the hockey section was not formed until 1914. Russian Field Hockey Federation (), is the governing body for field hockey in Russia. The federation is a member of the European Hockey Federation. The federation was created in 1992, after the 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union, and took over field hockey in Russia from Federation of bandy and field hockey USSR. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Hockey Federation banned Russia from the 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, and banned Russian officials from FIH events. England Hockey is the Sports governing body, national governing body for the sport of field hockey in England. There are separate governing bodies for the sport in the other parts of the United Kingdom. The German Hockey Federation ( or DHB) is the national governing body for field (and indoor) hockey in Germany. It was founded in 1909 in Bonn.
