The 2023 UCLA men's volleyball team represents University of California, Los Angeles in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Bruins, led by eleventh year head coach John Speraw, play their home games at Pauley Pavilion and the John Wooden Center (when basketball has the use of Pauley Pavilion). John Speraw
John Speraw (born October 18, 1971) is an American volleyball coach. He is the head coach of the men's volleyball team at United States national team and UCLA. He was the former coach of UC Irvine volleyball program where he led the team to three national titles in six years. Speraw graduated from UCLA in 1995 with a B.S. degree in micro-biology and molecular genetics. Player Speraw played on the UCLA Bruins men's volleyball team. He was a middle blocker and helped the Bruins win two NCAA National Championships. He was a member of the California Epsilon chapter of Phi Kappa Psi while at UCLA. Coaching As the UC Irvine head coach, he guided the Anteaters to three national titles in six years, the latest in 2012, defeating Southern California 3-0 (25-22, 34-32, 26-24). Rec Hall
Recreation Building, or Rec Hall as it is more commonly known, is a field house located on the University Park campus of the Pennsylvania State University. It was opened on January 15, 1929, and is still in use. Previously, Penn State's indoor sports teams played in a building known as the Armory, which was razed to allow expansion of the Willard Building. The men's and women's basketball teams moved to the Bryce Jordan Center in 1996 but the gymnastics, volleyball, and wrestling teams continue to compete at Rec Hall. Additionally George Mason entered the 2023 season with the knowledge that they would host the 2023 NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament.
