2023 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Soccer Team
The 2023 North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2023 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 77th season of the university fielding a program. The Tar Heels were led by thirteenth year head coach Carlos Somoano and played their home games at Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels finished the season 11–4–7 overall and 2–3–3 in 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer season, ACC play to finish in fourth place in the Coastal Division. Carlos Somoano
Carlos Somoano is an American soccer coach and is currently the head coach of the University of North Carolina North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer, men's soccer team. In his first season in charge of the Tar Heels, he led the team to the NCAA championship, becoming the second rookie head coach in NCAA history to do so after Mike Freitag. Education Somoano received a Bachelor of Science in biology (concentration in pre-medicine) from Eckerd College in 1992. He also earned four letters in soccer and was a two-year team captain. In 2000, he earned a Master's in Sport Management degree from the University of Richmond. 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament
The 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament was the 64th edition of the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The tournament started on November 17 and culminated with the Men's College Cup, the semifinals and finals of the tournament, which was played on December 9 and December 12 in Cary, North Carolina. In the championship game Syracuse defeated Indiana 2–2 (7–6 pk). Xavier Musketeers Men's Soccer
The Xavier Musketeers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Xavier University. The team is a member of the Big East Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. History Xavier University is a Jesuit university established in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1831. In March 1974, it was announced that a varsity soccer program would be formed at Xavier, and tryouts were held. Coached by Bob McKinney, the team played their first ever regular season match on September 21, 1974 at Corcoran Field, defeating the visiting Thomas More Rebels 3–2.
