2023 NLL Season
The 2023 National Lacrosse League season, formally known as the 2022–2023 season, was the 36th in the history of the NLL. The season began on December 2, 2022, and ended with the NLL final on June 3, 2023. This was the inaugural season for the expansion team Las Vegas Desert Dogs. The preseason went from November 5 through November 26, 2022. It included games at Aʼnowaraʼko꞉wa Arena and Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. The regular season went from December 2, 2022, through April 20, 2023. This season had the most regular season games in NLL history with 135. The broadcasting partners are The Sports Network, TSN in Canada and ESPN in the United States. TSN featured 20 games on TV with their ''NLL Game of the Week on TSN'' and show all the games online and their app. ESPN aired 10 games on TV and all games on ESPN+. National Lacrosse League
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league comprises 14 teams8 in the United States and 6 in Canada. The NLL is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). Rochester Knighthawks
The Rochester Knighthawks (also known as the K-Hawks) are an American professional box lacrosse team based in Rochester, New York, that competes in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The team plays its home games at Blue Cross Arena. The Knighthawks are owned by Terry Pegula who purchased the intellectual property of the team from former owner Curt Styres. Styres moved the previous version of the team to Halifax, Nova Scotia, as the Halifax Thunderbirds at the end of the 2018–2019 season. As an expansion team they are not a continuation of the previous Knighthawks. All records and championships followed the original franchise to Halifax. Halifax Thunderbirds
The Halifax Thunderbirds (known colloquially as the T-Birds) are a Canadian professional box lacrosse team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, that competes in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The Thunderbirds play their home games at Scotiabank Centre, which they share with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. Georgia Swarm
The Georgia Swarm are an American professional box lacrosse team based in the Atlanta metropolitan area that competes in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). They have been playing at the 13,000-seat Gas South Arena since their 2016 season. Team history Originally formed as the 2002 expansion Montreal Express, the owners of the Minnesota Swarm purchased the inactive Express franchise from the NLL to create the Swarm in 2004. They played at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota from 2004 until 2015. On May 22, 2015, team owner John Arlotta announced that the Xcel Energy Center did not renew the contract for the team.
