2023 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships
The 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships were the women's tennis tournaments played from May 5 to May 20, 2023, at campus sites and Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus. It was the 41st edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship. Women's team championship There were 64 teams selected to the women's team championship, 31 of which were automatic qualifiers from each Division I conference. The remaining 33 teams were selected at-large. Teams played two rounds of single-elimination matches in groups of four from May 5–6 at campus sites; the winners of those regionals advanced to a super-regional round on May 12 or 13, also held at campus sites. The remaining eight teams advanced to the championship rounds in Orlando, Florida. Conference USA
Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech. The William & Mary Tribe is a moniker for the College of William & Mary's athletic teams and the university's community more broadly. William & Mary has won two team national championships (both in men's tennis), the AIAW championships in women's golf, the NAIA championships in women's gymnastics, thirteen USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships, and various individual national championships. The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wāhine are the athletic teams that represent the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UH), in Honolulu, Hawaii. The UH athletics program is a member of the Big West Conference in most sports and competes at the NCAA Division I level. It comprises seven men's, 12 women's, and two coed athletic teams. Nickname Hawaiʻi athletics began more than a century ago, with the first football team being fielded in 1909. Through 1923, the UH teams were called the "Deans." Big West Conference
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season. Among the conference's 11 member institutions, 10 are located in California (with 9 located in Southern California alone) and one is located in Hawaii.
