2023–24 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks basketball team represented Stephen F. Austin State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Ladyjacks, who were led by first-year head coach Leonard Bishop, played their home games at the William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, Texas as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). This would be Stephen F. Austin's last season as members of the WAC, as on May 29, 2024, it was announced that they will be returning to the Southland Conference, which they left in 2021, with the move becoming official on July 1, 2024. Previous season The Ladyjacks finished the 2022–23 season 27–7, 15–3 in WAC play, to finish in second place. Texas State Bobcats
The Texas State Bobcats are the sports teams that represent Texas State University. Currently, they compete in the Sun Belt Conference in NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for football). The Bobcat has been the mascot of Texas State University since 1921, when the university adopted the name from the recommendation of a committee formed to raise school spirit. Though considerably smaller than mountain lions, bobcats are known for their stubborn fierceness and great courage. The football squad used the bobcat for the first time in 1921 and went undefeated with a 7–0 season. Texas State had several officially recognized live bobcat mascots until the 1970s. The Portland Pilots women's basketball team represents the University of Portland, located in Portland, Oregon, United States, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. KTRE (channel 9) is a television station licensed to Lufkin, Texas, United States, affiliated with ABC and Telemundo.
