2023–24 Sam Houston Bearkats Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Sam Houston Bearkats men's basketball team represented Sam Houston State University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bearkats, led by first-year head coach Chris Mudge, played their home games at the Bernard Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas as first-year members of the Conference USA. Previous season The Bearkats finished the 2022–23 season 26–8, 14–4 in WAC play to finish in second place. They defeated California Baptist in the quarterfinals of the WAC tournament before losing to Grand Canyon in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament. There they defeated Santa Clara before losing to eventual champion North Texas in the second round. Chris Mudge
Chris Mudge (born June 15, 1984) is an American basketball coach. He is the head coach of the Sam Houston Bearkats men's basketball team. Coaching career Mudge served as a student manager and graduate assistant at Texas under Rick Barnes before landing his first assistant coaching job at Midland College, a NJCAA, where he stayed from 2008 to 2010. He'd join Jason Hooten's staff in 2010, and would stay on through 2023 where he was part of six postseason appearances for the Bearkats. Langston University
Langston University (LU) is a public land-grant historically black university in Langston, Oklahoma. The Texas Southern Tigers basketball team is the basketball team that represents Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, Houston, Texas, United States. The team currently competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Saint Anselm Hawks are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Saint Anselm College, located in Goffstown, New Hampshire. The Siena Saints men's basketball team (formerly the Siena Indians) represents Siena College in Loudonville, New York, Loudonville, New York (state), New York, United States.
