2022–23 Wright State Raiders Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Wright State Raiders men's basketball team represented Wright State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Raiders, led by seventh-year head coach Scott Nagy, played their home games at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio as members of the Horizon League. Season summary For Wright State, 2022–23 began under the shadow of having lost its two leading scorers not to graduation or injury, but to the new open transfer rules. Grant Basile left for Virginia Tech and Tanner Holden for Ohio State. This fueled the concerns of supporters who worry about Wright State's ability to compete in the NIL era. Veteran CJ Wilbourn was also unavailable much of the season due to injury. It was a frustratingly mediocre season. After winning 20 or more games for the last six non-shortened seasons, they finished 10–10 in the Horizon League and only 18–15 overall. Scott Nagy
Scott Michael Nagy (; born June 7, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball. He had previously served as head coach at South Dakota State for 21 seasons (1995–2016). Biography Born in Abilene, Texas, Nagy attended St. Matthews grade school in Champaign, Illinois and Champaign Centennial High School, which he graduated from in 1984. His father is Dick Nagy, who was a University of Illinois assistant basketball coach under Lou Henson. Nagy played basketball collegiately at Delta State University, where he currently holds school records for most career games played and most assists in a career (549), season (234) and game (15). After graduation, Nagy became a graduate assistant at the University of Illinois for two seasons before taking a full-time assistant's job at South Dakota State, which he held for three years. Hilliard is a city in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 37,114 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb of Columbus and part of Norwich Township. History In 1852, John Reed Hilliard bought of farmland in western Franklin County, Ohio from Hoseah High and Abraham Wendell. Geographically, the Hilliard area is between Big Darby Creek on the west and the Scioto River on the east. Originally called Hilliard's Station, the town grew around the railroad route of the Piqua and Indiana Railroad station, which bisected the former Hilliard farmland.
