2022–23 West Virginia Mountaineers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mountaineers were coached by Bob Huggins, in his 16th and final season as WVU's head coach, and they played their home games at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia as members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 19–15, 7–11 in Big 12 Play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament to Kansas. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 9 seed in the South region, where they were defeated by Maryland in the First Round. Bob Huggins
Robert Edward Huggins (born September 21, 1953), nicknamed "Huggy Bear", is an American college basketball coach. He was the head coach at Walsh, Akron, Cincinnati, Kansas State, and West Virginia. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022. Huggins is the sixth men's college basketball coach with 900 or more career victories. He has been to 24 total NCAA tournaments, including 23 in the last 26 seasons. He has led his teams to nine Sweet Sixteen appearances, four Elite Eight appearances (3 at Cincinnati and 1 at West Virginia University), and two Final Four appearances (1992 with Cincinnati and 2010 with West Virginia). 2021–22 Big 12 Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2021–22 Big 12 men's basketball season began with practices in October 2020, followed by the start of the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Regular season conference play began in November 2021 and concludes in March 2022. The 2022 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was held March 9–12, 2022, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Baylor won their first ever National Championship in 2021, becoming the first Big 12 team to win the National Championship since Kansas in 2008. Taz Sherman
Tajzmel Sherman (born July 19, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Collin Cougars, and later for the West Virginia Mountaineers. High school career Sherman played basketball for Thurgood Marshall High School in Missouri City, Texas. As a senior, he helped his team reach the Class 5A state title game. Despite meeting academic requirements, he received no scholarship offers from NCAA programs, even those in the Division II and Division III. Baylor Bears Men's Basketball
The Baylor Bears men's basketball team represents Baylor University in Waco, Texas, in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I men's basketball competition. Jalen Lashaun Bridges (born May 14, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Valley Suns of the NBA G League.
