2022–23 Villanova Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team represented Villanova University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by head coach Kyle Neptune in his first year as a head coach, the Wildcats played their home games at the Finneran Pavilion on the school's campus in the Philadelphia suburb of Villanova, Pennsylvania and Wells Fargo Center as members of the Big East Conference. They finished with a record of 16–15, 10–10 to tie for sixth place in regular conference play. In the 2023 Big East Tournament, they defeated Georgetown in the opening round before losing to Creighton in the quarterfinals. Kyle Neptune
Kyle Neptune (born January 21, 1985) is an American basketball coach. He most recently served as head coach of the Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team. Playing career Neptune attended Brooklyn Friends School, and was a member of the school's 2003 State Championship team, recording a school record in points with 1,650. He played collegiate basketball at Lehigh under Billy Taylor where he was a member of the Mountain Hawks' 2004 NCAA tournament team. Coaching career Neptune's coaching career began in 2008 as a video coordinator under Jay Wright at Villanova and was on staff for the Wildcats' 2009 Final Four appearance. In 2010, he joined Joe Mihalich's staff at Niagara for three seasons before returning to Villanova as an assistant coach for eight seasons. Bryan Antoine (born April 26, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for Pelister of the Macedonian League. He played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats and Radford Highlanders. High school career A resident with his family of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, Antoine attended Ranney School in Tinton Falls for his four years in high school where he played along with Scottie Lewis. The Fordham Rams men's basketball team represents Fordham University, located in the Bronx, New York, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Jerold Taylor "Jay" Wright Jr. (born December 24, 1961) is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach of Villanova University from 2001 until 2022. Wright led the Villanova Wildcats to six Big East Conference championships and 16 NCAA tournament appearances in 21 seasons as head coach. Under Wright, Villanova reached four Final Fours (2009, 2016, 2018, 2022) and won two national championships in 2016 and 2018. Beginning as a four-year player at Bucknell University, he quickly moved to coaching as an assistant at the University of Rochester and then Drexel University.
