Shea Ralph
Shea Sydney Ralph (born March 12, 1978) is a former collegiate basketball player and current head coach for the Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team. She was previously an assistant coach at UConn from 2008 to 2021. Ralph was proficient in multiple sports, set state high school records in basketball, and earned multiple national player of the year awards in high school and college. She helped win a national championship as a player at the University of Connecticut in 2000 and won numerous individual awards, including the Sports Illustrated for Women Player of the Year and the Honda Sports Award for the best collegiate female athlete in basketball. She suffered five ACL injuries in her career, two of which led to sitting out the 1997–98 season. Ralph was drafted by the WNBA Utah Starzz, but recurring knee problems prevented her from embarking on a professional career. 2022–23 Northern Iowa Panthers Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Northern Iowa Panthers women's basketball team represented the University of Northern Iowa during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Panthers were led by head coach Tanya Warren in her sixteenth season, and played their home games at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The Panthers finished the season 23–10, 16–4 in MVC play, to finish in third place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated UIC in the quarterfinals before falling to Belmont in the semifinals. The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss, also known as the SJB Pavilion, is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Mississippi in University, Mississippi. The $96.5 million multipurpose arena is home to the University of Mississippi Rebels men's and women's basketball teams, with seating for up to 9,500 people. Pete Maravich Assembly Center
The Pete Maravich Assembly Center is a 13,215-seat multi-purpose arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The arena opened in 1972. It was originally known as the LSU Assembly Center, but was renamed in honor of Pete Maravich, a Tiger basketball legend, shortly after his death in 1988. Louisiana governor Buddy Roemer signed an act to rename the building in Maravich's honor (under Louisiana law, no LSU or state owned building may be named after a living person). Maravich never played in the arena as a collegian but played in it as a member of the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game.
