2022–23 Stetson Hatters Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Stetson Hatters men's basketball team represented Stetson University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hatters, led by fourth-year head coach Donnie Jones, played their home games at the Edmunds Center in DeLand, Florida as members of the ASUN Conference. They finished the season 17–13, 12–6 in ASUN play, to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament to Lipscomb. Stetson received an invitation to play in the CBI, where they lost in overtime to Milwaukee in the first round. The 2022–23 season marked the Hatters' first winning record since the 2000–01 season. Donnie Jones (basketball)
Donald Isaac Jones Sr. (born July 7, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former college basketball player. He is currently the men's head basketball coach at Stetson University. For the 2023-24 season, Jones led Stetson University to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Prior to Stetson, Jones served as the head coach of the UCF Knights men's basketball team from 2010 to 2016 and at Marshall from 2007 to 2010. After spending three years as head coach at Marshall, amassing a 55–41 record, Jones was hired by UCF after the university decided not to retain Kirk Speraw for the 2010–11 season. Before Marshall, Jones was an assistant with the Florida Gators for 11 seasons, and was hired by Marshall after he helped Billy Donovan coach the Gators to consecutive national championships in 2006 and 2007. Montverde Academy
Montverde Academy is a private college preparatory school in Montverde, Florida, United States, located in the Greater Orlando area. The school is widely known for its athletic programs, particularly soccer and basketball. History The school was founded in 1912 as Montgomery Industrial School. The school president was Henry P. Carpenter. It underwent a major expansion in 1921, when two new buildings were built for a cost of almost $40,000, including a concrete block dormitory for 200 boys and a new dining hall. The expansion was funded by donations, including $11,000 from R. Jay Arnold of Groveland, Florida. This expansion brought the organization to a total of eight buildings on 200 acres and $150,000 worth of equipment.
