2022–23 San Francisco Dons Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 San Francisco Dons men's basketball team represented the University of San Francisco during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Dons were led by first-year head coach Chris Gerlufsen, and played their home games at the War Memorial Gymnasium at the Sobrato Center as members of the West Coast Conference. Previous season The Dons finished the season the 2021–22 season 24–10, 10–6 in WCC play to finish in fourth place. In the WCC tournament, they defeated BYU in the third round before losing to Gonzaga in the semifinals. The Dons received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the East region, their first appearance since 1998. They lost in the first round to Murray State. The day after the tournament loss, head coach Todd Golden left the team after accepting the head coach position at Florida. Chris Gerlufsen
Chris Gerlufsen (born September 16, 1976) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach of the San Francisco Dons men's basketball team. He served as the acting head coach for Hawaii during their 2019–20 season while head coach Eran Ganot took a leave of medical absence, compiling an 8–5 record during that period. Early life and college Gerlufsen is a native of Philadelphia, and the son of former University of Massachusetts head coach Ron Gerlufsen. Gerlufsen played at Randolph–Macon College in Ashland, Virginia where he was a guard and a captain on teams that made the NCAA Division III tournament twice. Gerlufsen graduated from Randolph–Macon with a degree in business and economics in 1998. Jamaree Bouyea
Jamaree Ray-Shaun Bouyea (born June 27, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons. High school career Bouyea played basketball for Palma School in Salinas, California. As a junior, he averaged 18 points and led his team to the Division IV state championship. In his senior season, he averaged 19.1 points and 6.1 assists per game. Bouyea became the first player in 18 seasons to repeat as ''The Monterey Herald'' All-County Player of the Year. He was lightly recruited and considered attending prep school for a fifth year. Marcus Williams (basketball, Born 2002)
Marcus Williams (born July 29, 2002) is an American college basketball player for the San Francisco Dons of the West Coast Conference (WCC). He previously played for the Wyoming Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies High school career Williams played basketball for Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas as a freshman. He transferred to Clear Springs High School in League City, Texas for his sophomore season to play with his older brother, Faite. After the season, Williams returned to Dickinson but was ruled ineligible to play for the varsity team, moving down to junior varsity. As a senior, he averaged 21.4 points, 7.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals, helping his team achieve a 32–5 record, win the Region III-6A title and advance to its first state tournament in 65 years. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball team represents the Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Yellow Jackets in NCAA Division I basketball.
