2022–23 Rice Owls Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Rice Owls men's basketball team represented Rice University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by sixth-year head coach Scott Pera, and played their home games at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas as members of Conference USA (C-USA). The Owls finished the season 19–16, 8–12 in C-USA play, to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. As the No. 6 seed in the C-USA tournament, they defeated UTSA before losing to UAB. They received an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Duquesne before losing to Southern Utah in quarterfinals. This was the last season for the team as members of Conference USA before joining the American Athletic Conference on July 1, 2023. Scott Pera
Scott Pera (born August 27, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, most recently serving as the Head Coach for the Rice Owls men's basketball team. Coaching career Pera started his coaching career at Elizabethtown College in 1992, before embarking on a high school coaching career in Pennsylvania and California, most notably Artesia High School (California), Artesia High School, where he coached James Harden. In his high school coaching career, Pera compiled a 258–65 record. In the college ranks, Pera joined Herb Sendek's staff at Arizona State Sun Devils men's basketball, Arizona State, where he began as the director of basketball operations before being elevated to assistant coach. From 2012 to 2014, Pera was an assistant coach at Penn Quakers men's basketball, Penn under Jerome Allen (basketball), Jerome Allen. 2022 Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Conference USA men's basketball tournament was the concluding event of the 2021–22 men's basketball season for Conference USA (C-USA). It was held March 8–12, 2022, in Frisco, Texas, at the Ford Center at The Star. The winner, the UAB Blazers, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA tournament. Reidsville is a city in Rockingham County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. At the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 14,583. Reidsville is included in the Greensboro–High Point Metropolitan Statistical Area of the Piedmont Triad. The William & Mary Tribe men's basketball team represents the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in NCAA Division I competition. The school's team competes in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and play their home games in Kaplan Arena. Former Cornell Head Coach Brian Earl was hired as the 32nd coach in school history following the dismissal of Coach Dane Fischer.
