2022–23 North Carolina Tar Heels Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tar Heels were led by head coach Courtney Banghart, who was in her fourth season as the Tar Heel head coach. She was assisted by Joanne Aluka-White, Adrian Walters, and Itoro Coleman. The Tar Heels played their home games at Carmichael Arena as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels finished the season 22–11 overall record and 11–7 in ACC play to finish in a tie for sixth place. As the seventh seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated Clemson in the Second Round before losing to rivals Duke in the Quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and were the six seed in the Seattle 3 Regional. Courtney Banghart
Courtney Rosholt Banghart (born May 11, 1978) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball, North Carolina. Prior to North Carolina, she served as head coach at Princeton Tigers women's basketball, Princeton from 2007 to 2019. Playing career Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Banghart graduated from Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, also in New Hampshire. As a guard (basketball), guard, Banghart played for Dartmouth from 1996 to 2000, including the Dartmouth teams that won the 1999 and 2000 Ivy League titles. She holds Dartmouth records for three-pointers in a game, season, and career. 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 40th edition of the tournament began on March 16, 2022, and concluded with the championship game on April 3 at Target Center in Minneapolis, where the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the UConn Huskies 64–49 to win their second NCAA title, and handing UConn its first loss in the championship game. Lourdes High School is a Catholic high school located in Rochester, Minnesota. It is a part of the Rochester Catholic School system and is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Winona. Background Lourdes High School (LHS) was initially for girls only and went coeducational in 1925 when nearby boys-only Heffron High School closed.
