2022–23 National League (ice Hockey) Season
The 2022–23 National League season was the 85th season of Swiss professional ice hockey and the sixth season as the National League (NL). With a 52-game regular season remaining intact, 14 teams were announced to be participating in the campaign, marking the return of EHC Kloten after four years, following promotion from the Swiss League. The 2022–23 season begin the new league sponsorship partnership with Yuh Financial. In the postseason, the quarterfinals and semifinals of the NL playoffs are split and featured on alternative days and in the NL playout finals, four foreign player licenses were allowed to participate on each team in the series against the playout loser and Swiss League champion. The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and the highest level of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 NL season, 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 NL season, 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the Kontinental Hockey League, KHL with 6,397 and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. The ZSC Lions are another club in the top ten of European ice hockey attendance, ranking seventh with 9,694 spectators. SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers
The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers are a professional ice hockey club from Rapperswil, Switzerland, and are members of the National League. History The Lakers were founded in 1945 and were known as SC Rapperswil-Jona until 2005, when the club changed its name to Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and then again changed their name to SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in 2015. They play their home games at St. Galler Kantonalbank Arena. NHL veteran Doug Gilmour skated for the Lakers during the NHL lockout-shortened season in 1994. Eisstadion Davos
zondacrypto Arena is an indoor arena in Davos, Switzerland. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of HC Davos. It holds 7,080 people, of which 3,280 are seated. Every year the Spengler Cup is played in this arena. Major renovation of the arena started at the conclusion of the 2017–18 season to upgrade most of the stands and the concourse. The seating capacity was not increased and the total cost was around CHF 27 million. Construction began in 2018 and was completed in 2021. Nuova Valascia
The NuoValascia, or Gottardo Arena is an ice hockey arena in Ambrì, Ticino, Switzerland. It is located only a few feet away from the former Valascia. The inauguration took place on September 11, 2021. The arena serves as the home for HC Ambrì-Piotta of the National League (NL) and seats up to 6,775 spectators for hockey games. Ambrì is a Swiss village in the municipality of Quinto, Ticino, Quinto, Leventina District, Canton of Ticino. Raiffeisen Arena
The Raiffeisen Arena is an ice hockey arena in Porrentruy, Switzerland. The arena serves as the home for HC Ajoie of the National League (ice hockey), National League (NL). History Raiffeisen Arena was formerly known as Patinoire de Porrentruy and has been the home arena for HC Ajoie since 1973.
