2022–23 Mercer Bears Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Mercer Bears men's basketball team represented Mercer University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears, led by fourth-year head coach Greg Gary, played their home games at Hawkins Arena in Macon, Georgia as a member of the Southern Conference. Previous season The Bears finished the 2021–22 season 16–17, 8–10 in SoCon play to finish in seventh place. They defeated Western Carolina in the first round of the SoCon tournament, before losing to Furman in the quarterfinals. Greg Gary (born February 14, 1970) is an American head college basketball coach who is currently the quality control assistant for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was most recently the head coach for the Mercer Bears men's basketball team. He is the former head men's basketball coach at Centenary College of Louisiana. The 2022–23 East Carolina Pirates men's basketball team represented East Carolina University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Pirates were led by first year head coach Michael Schwartz, and played their home games at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum as ninth-year members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 15–16, 6–12 in AAC Play to finish in ninth place. They defeated South Florida in the first round of the AAC tournament before falling to Houston in the quarterfinals. LaGrange College
LaGrange College is a private college in LaGrange, Georgia. Founded in 1831 as a female educational institution, LaGrange is the oldest private college in Georgia. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and offers more than 55 academic and pre-professional programs, including graduate degrees in education. History On December 26, 1831, the charter for "LaGrange Female Academy" was granted by the Georgia Legislature.
