2022–23 Men's Belgian Hockey League
The 2022–23 Men's Belgian Hockey League was the 103nd season of the Men's Belgian Hockey League, the top men's Belgian field hockey league. The season started on 4 September 2022 and concluded on 21 May 2023 with the second match of the championship final. Racing were the defending champions. Gantoise beat the Waterloo Ducks 5–2 on aggregate in the championship final to win their second title, 102 years after their first championship win. Men's Belgian Hockey League
The Men's Belgian Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by the Royal Belgian Hockey Association. The league was established in 1919 as the Division 1. Between the 2006–07 and the 2015–16 seasons it was known as the Honor Division. Sixteen different clubs have won the league with a 28 times record for Léopold. The current champion is Gantoise, having won the 2023–24 season by defeating Waterloo Ducks in the championship final. Format The season usually starts in September and ends around the end of April or the beginning of May. From the 2021–22 season onwards the league is played by twelve teams who play each other twice and who compete for four spots in the championship play-offs. The number one and four and the number two and three play each other in the semi-final and the winners qualify for the final where the winner will be crowned champion. Royal Daring Hockey Club Molenbeek, commonly known as Royal Daring or simply Daring, is a Belgian field hockey club based in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Brussels. Both the first men's and women's team play in the highest division of Belgian hockey. The hockey club Royal Daring was founded on 14 May 1922 as part of the football club R. Daring Club Molenbeek. Brasschaat () is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Brasschaat proper. Braxgata Hockey Club, also known as Braxgata, is a Belgian professional sports club club based in Boom. The club is most well known for its field hockey section, with both the first men's and women's teams playing as part of the Belgian Hockey League. History Braxgata was founded in 1981. In 1997, it was named by the Royal Belgian Hockey Association as ''Club of the Year''. Since 2005, Braxgata has found its home in De Schorre.
