2022–23 Marist Red Foxes Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Marist Red Foxes men's basketball team represented Marist College in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Red Foxes, led by fifth-year head coach John Dunne, played their home games at the McCann Arena in Poughkeepsie, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Previous season The Red Foxes finished the 2021–22 season 14–16, 9–11 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They were upset by Quinnipiac in the first round of the MAAC tournament. John Dunne (basketball)
John Dunne (born June 11, 1970) is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at Marist College. He was previously an assistant coach at Adelphi University under Steve Clifford and at Seton Hall University under Louis Orr. He also served as an assistant coach at Siena College. Dunne was born in Queens, New York and attended Archbishop Molloy High School, where he also played basketball. He played at the collegiate level at Ithaca College. Dunne was hired by Saint Peter's University as their men's basketball coach in 2006. While at Saint Peter's, he became the first coach in MAAC history to bring a No. 9 seed to the semifinals of the 2018 MAAC men's basketball tournament, MAAC tournament, when Saint Peter's University beat No. 1 seeded Rider University 66–55 on March 2, 2018. The 2022–23 Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team represented Binghamton University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Binghamton University Events Center in Vestal, New York, led by second-year head coach Levell Sanders. They finished the season 13-18, 8-8 in America East Play for a three-way-tie for 4th place. They defeated UMBC in the quarterfinals of the America East Tournament before losing to Vermont in the semifinals.
