2022–23 Grambling State Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Grambling State Tigers men's basketball team represented Grambling State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by sixth-year head coach Donte Jackson, played their home games at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in Grambling, Louisiana as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Previous season The Tigers finished the 2021–22 season 12–20, 9–9 in SWAC play, to finish in a tie for sixth place. In the SWAC tournament, they defeated Southern in the quarterfinals before losing to second-seeded Texas Southern in the semifinals. Donte Jackson (basketball)
Donte Jackson (born January 19, 1979) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs basketball, Alabama A&M Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He was previously head coach of the Grambling State Tigers men's basketball, Grambling State Tigers. In 2024, he led the Tigers to their first SWAC tournament championship in program history and their first ever 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Playing career After a standout high school career in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jackson attended Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball, Milwaukee for one season.
