2022–23 East Tennessee State Buccaneers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's basketball team represented East Tennessee State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Buccaneers, led by second-year head coach Desmond Oliver, played their home games at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee, as members of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 12–20, 8–10 in SoCon play to finish in a tie for fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the SoCon Tournament, they lost to Western Carolina in the quarterfinals On March 10, 2023, the school fired head coach Desmond Oliver. On March 21, the school named former ETSU and Wake Forest assistant coach Brooks Savage the team's new head coach. Desmond Oliver (basketball)
Desmond L. Oliver (born December 4, 1969) is an American college basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the South Florida Bulls. Playing career Oliver played collegiately for one season at Genesee Community College under Bill Van Gundy, the father of Jeff and Stan, before transferring to Dominican College in New York, where he served as a team captain. Coaching career In 1994, Oliver began his college coaching career as an assistant at Niagara where he stayed until 1997 before taking an assistant coaching position under Tony Barone at Texas A&M. Oliver would return to New York with stops at Cornell and St. Bonaventure before joining Bonnies' head coach Jim Baron at Rhode Island where he'd stay as an assistant from 2001 to 2004. Emory And Henry Wasps
The Emory & Henry Wasps, also known as E&H Wasps, are the athletic teams that represent Emory and Henry University, Emory & Henry University, located in Emory, Virginia, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Wasps will compete as members of the South Atlantic Conference as they plan to start playing a full SAC schedule in 2022–23. Limestone Saints
The Limestone Saints were the athletic teams that represented Limestone University, located in Gaffney, South Carolina, in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA NCAA Division II, Division II intercollegiate sporting competitions. The Saints compete as members of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) for most sports, having joined that league in July 2020 after 22 years in Conference Carolinas (CC).
