2022–23 Davidson Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Davidson Wildcats men's basketball team represented Davidson College during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by first-year head coach Matt McKillop and played their home games at the John M. Belk Arena in Davidson, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). Previous season The Wildcats finished the 2021–22 season 27–7, 15–3 in A-10 play, to win the regular season championship. They defeated Fordham and Saint Louis to advance to the championship game of the A-10 tournament where they lost to Richmond. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the West Region, where they lost in the first round to Michigan State. On June 18, 2022, the school announced that head coach Bob McKillop was retiring after 33 years at the school. Matt McKillop
Matt McKillop (born March 22, 1983) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach of the Davidson Wildcats men's basketball program of the Atlantic 10 Conference. He succeeded his father Bob who was the coach of the Wildcats for 33 years. Playing career McKillop was a three year starter at Davidson under his father Bob McKillop where he averaged 8.2 points per game and made two NCAA Tournament appearances. He initially signed to play professional basketball in the Czech Republic before suffering a knee injury. Lee Hyun-jung (born October 23, 2000) is a South Korean professional basketball player for the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). Early life and career Lee attended Samil Commercial School in Suwon, where he played basketball under the coaching of his father. In middle school, Lee was only and played as a guard, as he practiced dribbling and mid-range shooting. By the end of his middle school years, Lee grew to over .
