2022–23 Chicago State Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Chicago State Cougars men's basketball team represented Chicago State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars, led by second-year head coach Gerald Gillion, played their home games at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago, Illinois and competed as an independent with no conference affiliation. Previous season The Cougars finished the 2021–22 season 7–25, 3–15 in WAC play to finish in a tie for 11th place. Gerald Gillion
Gerald Gillion (born October 10, 1985) is an American men's basketball coach. He is currently an assistant coach of Florida State Seminoles men's basketball, Florida State. Gillion attended Florida State University. He graduated with a degree in social science in 2008. Gillion began his coaching career when he was named head coach of Northeast High School (Oakland Park, Florida), Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida in 2008. In his first season, he led the team to 20 wins and a district title, despite winning 10 games the season before. In 2013, Gillion was hired as the director of basketball operations at FIU Panthers men's basketball, FIU. Welsh–Ryan Arena is a 7,039-seat multi-purpose arena in Evanston, Illinois, United States, near the campus of Northwestern University. The 2022–23 Northwestern Wildcats men's basketball team represented Northwestern University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They finished the season 21–10, 12–8 in Big Ten play, to finish in a tie for second place, their highest finish since the 1958–59 season.
