2022–23 Ball State Cardinals Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Ball State Cardinals men's basketball team represented Ball State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cardinals, led by first-year head coach Michael Lewis, played their home games at Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana as members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). As the fourth seed they lost to Ohio in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament to finish 20–12 and 11–7 in MAC play. Previous season The Cardinals finished the 2021–22 season 14–17, 9–10 in MAC play, to finish in sixth place. They lost to Ohio in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament. Michael Lewis (basketball Coach)
Michael Lewis (born July 27, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Ball State Cardinals men's team. He played in college for the Indiana Hoosiers. Playing career Lewis played high school basketball at Jasper High School where he scored 2,138 career points, and was named Gatorade Player of the Year in 1996. In college, Lewis played at Indiana University Bloomington, where he was an all-Big Ten third team selection and ranks second all-time in Indiana history in assists playing for the Hoosiers under Bob Knight. Toledo Rockets Men's Basketball
The Toledo Rockets men's basketball team represents the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. The school's team currently competes in the Mid-American Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 1980, the seventh longest active drought among all Division I teams. The Wayne State Warriors are the athletic teams that represent Wayne State University, located in Detroit, Michigan, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sporting competitions.
