2022–23 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2022–23 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 52nd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The draws for the respective provincial championships took place at various stages between June and September 2022. The competition ran from 6 November 2022 until 22 January 2023. The defending champion was Ballygunner of Waterford; however, that club lost to Ballyhale Shamrocks in the All-Ireland semi-final. Ferns St Aidan's and Shinrone made their championship debuts, while Kilruane MacDonaghs and St Finbarr's returned after long absences. The final was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 22 January 2023, between Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny and Dunloy Cúchullains of Antrim, in what was a first championship meeting between the teams. Pat Hoban (hurler)
Patrick Hoban (born 1968) is an Irish hurling Manager (Gaelic Games), manager and former hurling, player. At club level he lined out with Mullinavat GAA, Mullinavat and was also a member of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Hoban later served as a manager with various Kilkenny teams. Playing career Born in Mullinavat, County Kilkenny, Hoban first came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Mullinavat GAA, local club. He eventually joined the club's top adult team and was a member of their Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship, County Intermediate Championship-winning teams in 1989 and 2001. Hoban first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny minor team in 1986 before later winning a Leinster Under-21 Hurling Championship, Leinster Championship medal with the under-21 team in 1988. Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA
Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the villages of Kilruane, Ardcroney and Cloughjordan. The club was founded in 1937 and is named after Thomas MacDonagh, a signatory of the 1916 Proclamation who was born and lived in Cloughjordan. The clubhouse and playing field are located in Cloughjordan. The finest day in the club's history was in 1986 when it won the Senior Hurling Club All-Ireland title, defeating Buffers Alley of Wexford GAA in the final by 1-15 to 2-10. The club incorporates many of clubs that existed in the parishes at the time. A forerunner to the MacDonaghs club was the famous De Wets formed in 1900. Dessie Hutchinson
Dessie Hutchinson (born 5 December 1996) is an Irish hurler and former professional footballer. He last played professional football as a midfielder or full-back for Waterford of the League of Ireland Premier Division. In 2020 he joined the Waterford county hurling team and was part of the team that reached the 2020 All-Ireland SHC Final. He is a cousin of Eoin Ruane's. Hutchinson was born in Dunmore East, County Waterford and played youth football with Waterford Bohemians and Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made his senior debut in the EFL Cup. In 2018 he joined hometown club Waterford, who play in the League of Ireland. Early life Hutchinson was born in Ballygunner. 2021 Clare Senior Hurling Championship
The 2021 Clare Senior Hurling Championship was a competition in hurling that was the 126th staging of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Clare County Board in 1887. With Sixmilebridge having won back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020, they are looking to be the first Clare club team to win a three-in-a-row since Newmarket-on-Fergus in 1973. They defeated near-neighbours O'Callaghan's Mills in the 2020 final who were contesting their first final since 1993 which they ironically also lost to Sixmilebridge. The 2021 Championship changed from the regular layout in adopting a group stage format. Clare Senior Hurling Championship
The Clare Senior Hurling Championship or Clare SHC, is an annual hurling competition organised by the Clare GAA, Clare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is contested by the top-ranking senior hurling clubs in County Clare, Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition in Clare hurling. Introduced in 1887 as the Clare Hurling Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams. Ballyea GAA
Ballyea is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Ballyea / Clarecastle in County Clare, Ireland founded in 1935. History In 2016, Ballyea coached by Robbie Hogan won their first ever Clare Senior Hurling Championship when they defeated Clonlara in the final by 2–14 to 1–14 after a replay. The next week on 6 November, they defeated Thurles Sarsfields from Tipperary in the Munster Semi-final by 4–18 to 1–22 after extra-time. The 2019–20 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 50th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The competition began on 27 October 2019 and ended on 19 January 2020. The defending champion was Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny. Ballyhale Shamrocks defeated Borris–Ileigh by 0–18 to 0–15 in the final at Croke Park on 18 January 2020 to win the competition.
