2022 World Cup Of Pool
The 2022 World Cup of Pool will be a professional pool doubles tournament, and the 15th edition of the World Cup of Pool. The event will be contested by 32 pairs representing different nations, and will take place at the Brentwood Centre in Brentwood, England, from 14 to 19 June 2022. The German team of Joshua Filler and Thorsten Hohmann were defending their 2021 title, but were knocked out in the second round to the Dutch pairing of Niels Feijen and Marc Bijsterbosch. Prize fund The total prize money for the event: *Winners (per pair): $60,000 *Runners-up (per pair): $30,000 *Semi-finalists (per pair): $15,000 *Quarter-finalists (per pair): $9,000 *Last 16 losers (per pair): $4,500 *Last 32 losers (per pair): $3,625 Teams Each competing nation features two players, with the hosts, Great Britain, receiving two places. Brentwood Centre
Brentwood is a town in the Borough of Brentwood, in the county of Essex in the East of England. It is in the London commuter belt, situated 20 miles (30 km) east-north-east of Charing Cross and close by the M25 motorway. In 2017, the population of the town was estimated to be 54,885. Roman Hybler (born 27 December 1977 in Liberec, Czech Republic) is a Czech professional pool player. Hybler is most well known for winning the ''2002 German Open'' Euro Tour event. Career Hybler took up pool aged 12. His first club was the ''PBC Woodstock Germering''; later he moved to ''PBC Olympics Munich'', for which he won several titles at the German Junior Championships. In 2001, Hybler entered his first international tournament, as a part of the Euro Tour, and a year later won his only Tour championship, the ''2002 German Open'', defeating Klaus Zobrekis in the final. The same year, Hybler also entered his first world championship, the 2002 WPA World Nine-ball Championship reaching the knockout round, finishing 33rd. Ko Ping-chung (also Ko Pin-chung , born 18 September 1995) is a Taiwanese 9-ball pool player. Ko is the younger brother of Ko Pin-yi. Career In November 2010, Ko Ping-chung reached his first major final the All Japan Championship. However, he lost in the final against the German Thorsten Hohmann. In May 2011, he reached the knockout round of a men's world championship for the first time at the 2011 WPA World Ten-ball Championship and lost in the last 64 match against Darren Appleton 8–9. Ko Pin-yi (born 31 May 1989) is a Taiwanese professional pool player. He became multiple World Champion in the disciplines of 9-ball and 10-ball in 2015. Career Ko defeated Carlo Biado in the final of the 2015 WPA World Ten-ball Championship. He then defeated Shane Van Boening in the final of the 2015 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. At the junior level, Ko twice won the World Nine-ball Junior Championship in 2007 and 2008. Personal Ko is the oldest of three brothers. John Morra (born May 25, 1989) is a Canadian professional pool player. Morra has represented Canada at the World Cup of Pool on seven occasions, partnering Jason Klatt in 2011, 2012 and 2015, and Alex Pagulayan in 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2019.
