2022 World Athletics Championships – Women's Triple Jump
The women's triple jump at the 2022 World Athletics Championships was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene on 16 and 18 July 2022. 28 athletes from 20 nations entered to the event. Summary Coming in to the Championships Yulimar Rojas held all the credentials, World Record, Check. Olympic Champion, Check. Defending Champion, Check and Double Check. World Leader, yes but in her two outings for the season, she nor anybody else had broken 15 metres. Could there be weakness? After jumping 14.60m in the first round, Rojas found herself in an unfamiliar second place behind a 14.89m new world leader from returning two time silver medalist Shanieka Ricketts. As the second jumper, in the second round Rojas settled it. has only been bettered by one other person in history (that was the Championship Record by Inessa Kravets in 1995). Hayward Field
Hayward Field is a track and field stadium in the Northwestern United States, located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. It has been the home of the university's track and field teams since 1921, and was the on-campus home of the varsity football team from 1919 through 1966. Track and field competitions at the stadium are organized by the not-for-profit organization TrackTown USA. Hayward Field was named after track coach Bill Hayward (1868–1947), who ran the Ducks' program from 1904 to 1947. Renovated in 2004, it is one of only five International Association of Athletics Federations Class 1 certified tracks in the United States (along with Hutsell-Rosen Track, Icahn Stadium, John McDonnell Field, and Rock Chalk Park). Yamilé Aldama
Yamilé Aldama Pozo (; born 14 August 1972) is a Cuban-born triple jumper. She represented Cuba until 2003, Sudan from 2004 to 2010, then Great Britain from 2011 onwards. A four-time Olympian (2000–12), she won a silver medal at the 1999 World Championships in Athletics, 1999 World Championships and a gold medal at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2012 World Indoor Championships. Life and career Aldama was born in Havana, Cuba, and initially represented her country of birth. Olga Rypakova
Olga Rypakova Alekseyeva; 30 November 1984) is a former Kazakhstani track and field athlete. Originally a heptathlete, she switched to focus on the long jump and began to compete in the triple jump after 2007. Her first successes came in the combined events at Asian competitions – she won the women's pentathlon at the 2005 Asian Indoor Games and took the heptathlon gold at the 2006 Asian Games the following year. She competed in both jumping events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and finished fourth in the triple jump with an Asian record of 15.11 metres. Rypakova has represented Kazakhstan at the 2007 and 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She reached the world podium for the first time at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships, where she took gold with an Asian indoor record jump of 15.14 m.
