2022 Syracuse Orange Men's Soccer Team
The 2022 season is the 103rd season of Syracuse University fielding a Syracuse Orange men's soccer, men's varsity soccer team. It was the program's 10th season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and their 13th season with Ian McIntyre (soccer), Ian McIntyre as the head coach of the program. Syracuse played their home matches at SU Soccer Stadium in Syracuse, New York. The 2022 season was the most successful season in program history. It was the first time a team from the university reached the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament championship game going on to defeat #13 Indiana, 7-6 on penalties after a 2-2 draw. It was the program's first national soccer title since 1936. Ian McIntyre (soccer)
Ian McIntyre (born 1972) is the coach of the Syracuse Orange men's soccer team. He previously coached at Oneonta and Hartwick. Early life McIntyre grew up in Basildon, England and played for an Arsenal FC youth team. Playing career McIntyre was a sweeper for the Hartwick Hawks from 1992–1995. The team had a 50–20–7 record during his four seasons as a player. The team also made 2 NCAA Tournament berths and a 52-20-7 record during his four seasons. McIntyre was named to the NSCAA All-American First Team in 1995. In that same year, he was named the Hartwick Male Athlete of the Year. He was inducted into the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, his first year of eligibility. Deandre Kerr
Deandre Kerr (born November 29, 2002) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a forward for Toronto FC. Early life Kerr began playing youth soccer with Ajax SC at age seven. Afterwards, he played for Pickering FC's United FA OPDL team. He then moved to Whitby SC and in 2018 went on trial with Scottish Premier League clubs. In November 2018, he joined the Toronto FC Academy. College career In 2020, he began attending Syracuse University, playing for the men's soccer team. In his freshman season, he led the team with four goals and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. Luke A. Biasi (born July 15, 1999) is an American soccer player who currently plays as a defender for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL Championship. The North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in men's NCAA Division I soccer competition. They compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels won the NCAA championship in 2001 and 2011. History The UNC men's varsity soccer team was founded in 1947 by Dr. Marvin Allen, the team's first coach. Before the team had only been at the club level. Dr. Allen led the team until 1977 when the current UNC women's soccer team coach Anson Dorrance took over.
