2022 LFA Season
The 2022 LFA season was the seventh season of operation (sixth season of play) of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on 4 March and concluded on 24 April, with the playoffs beginning on April 30 and ending with the Tazón México V, on 21 May. The league returned after a two-season hiatus. Fundidores won their first LFA championship after defeating Gallos Negros 18–14 in the Tazón México V, played in Tijuana. Preseason events Expansion Two new teams joined the league for the 2022 season: Galgos de Tijuana, based in Tijuana, and Reyes de Jalisco, based in Zapopan, Jalisco. The league also lost one team, Osos de Toluca, that folded in January 2021. With these changes, the 2022 season will be contested by seven teams and, unlike the previous seasons, the league will not be divided into two divisions. Gallos Negros De Querétaro
Gallos Negros de Querétaro (English: ''Queretaro Black Roosters'') are an American football team based in Querétaro City, Mexico. The Gallos Negros compete in the LFA, the top American football league in Mexico. The team was established following the relocation of Condors, one of the charter teams of the league, to Querétaro in November 2021. History On 10 November 2021 Commissioner Alejandro Jaimes revealed the Condors would relocate prior to the 2022 LFA season. The team had been acquired by the ownership group of Querétaro football club from Condors' owner Luis Nassar. On 7 December 2021, the move to Querétaro City was made official by LFA authorities and the team was presented as Condors de Querétaro. On 3 February 2022, the team revealed a new identity and were rebranded as Gallos Negros de Querétaro. Raptors De Naucalpan
Raptors de Naucalpan (English: ''Naucalpan Raptors'') are an American football team based in Naucalpan, Mexico. The Raptors compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The team plays its home games at the Estadio José Ortega Martínez. Despite never winning an LFA title, the Raptors have the most playoff appearances with six. History The team was founded on 4 November 2015 and is one of the four charter members of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional. Rafael Duk era (2016–2017) In their first season, the Raptors finished second in the league with a 4–2 regular season record, qualifying for the Tazón México I. Reyes de Jalisco (English: ''Jalisco Kings'') are an American football team based in Zapopan, Mexico. The Reyes compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The team plays its home games at the Estadio Reyes Comude. The Mexicas de la Ciudad de México, also called Mexicas LFA or Mexicas CDMX, are an American football team based in Mexico City (CDMX), Mexico. The team was founded in 2015 with the name of Eagles, and is one of the four charter members of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. Estadio Caliente is a multi-purpose stadium in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, located across the Tijuana River from the Mexico–United States border. It is the home of Club Tijuana of Liga MX. Saraperos De Saltillo
The Saraperos de Saltillo (English: Saltillo Serapes) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League. Their home ballpark is the Estadio de Béisbol Francisco I. Madero in Saltillo, Coahuila. They have won three championships (1980, 2009, and 2010). The 1979 Saraperos were recognized as one of the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time. The Estadio Jesús Martínez "Palillo" is a multi-use stadium located in the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in Mexico City.
