ISSF World Cup
The ISSF World Cup was introduced by the International Shooting Sport Federation in 1986 to provide a homogeneous system for qualification to the Olympic shooting competitions. It still is carried out in the Olympic shooting events, with four competitions per year in each event. For the best shooters there is since 1988 a ''World Cup Final''. World Cup Final The World Cup Final in rifle and pistol is often, but not always, held in Munich as the ISSF shooting season ending competition. The location and date of the World Cup Final in shotgun are more flexible. To the Final, the following shooters are qualified: * The defending Olympic, World, ISSF World Cup Final champions. * Silver and bronze medalists of either the last Olympic or the World Championship, whichever competition that was most recently held. * The eight shooters that have made the best performances at the World Cup competitions during the year. Arjun Babuta (born 24 January 1999) is an Indian sport shooter who competes in the 10 meter air rifle event. Babuta competed at the 2024 Olympics, where he narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish in the men's 10 m air rifle event. Early life Babuta was born on 24 January 1999 in Jalalabad, Fazilka. He is the son of Neeraj Babuta and the famous Punjabi author-poet Deepti Babuta. He later moved to Chandigarh where he pursued a career in shooting. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (born 3 February 2001) is an Indian sport shooter. He won the bronze medal in the 50 metre rifle three positions event at the 2019 Asian Shooting Championships and secured a quota place for India at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
