2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The 2022 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship was the 19th staging of the FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the (FIVB). The Netherlands and Poland were dual hosts for this event. Serbia women's national volleyball team, Serbia won their second title for the consecutive edition, beating Brazil women's national volleyball team, Brazil in straight sets. Italy women's national volleyball team, Italy took the bronze medal defeating USA women's national volleyball team, USA. Tijana Bošković was again the recipient of the MVP award of the tournament. Host selection On 19 January 2019, FIVB announced that Netherlands and Poland were selected as dual hosts for this event. Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn (; Dutch Low Saxon: ) is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland in the centre of the Netherlands. Paola Egonu
Paola Ogechi Egonu (; born 18 December 1998) is an Italian professional volleyball player. She plays for Italian volleyball club Vero Volley Milano and is part of the Italy women's national volleyball team. Early life Egonu was born in Cittadella, Italy, to Nigerian parents. She has two siblings, Angela and Andrea, and a cousin, Terry Enweonwu, who also plays volleyball. She received Italian citizenship at age fourteen. She was awarded the prize for Woman of the Year 2019 by ''D - la Repubblica delle donne'', a weekly magazine of ''La Repubblica''. FIVB Senior World Rankings
The FIVB Senior World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in volleyball. The teams of the member nations of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A points system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of all FIVB-recognised full international matches. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula, but the method usually employed is the serpentine system. The ranking system has been revamped in 2020, responding to criticism that the preceding calculation method did not effectively reflect the relative strengths of the national teams. The Brazil women's national volleyball team is administered by the ''Confederação Brasileira de Voleibol'' (CBV) and takes part in international volleyball competitions. With a tally of 46 international titles the Brazil women's volleyball national team is one of the most successful national teams of all time. They have won 6 olympic medals including two gold medals, in the 2008 Summer Olympics and in 2012 Summer Olympics. They also hold the record of FIVB World Grand Prix championship titles having won the competition 12 times. The FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1970 they have been awarded every four years. The tournament will be held biennially starting in 2025. Li Yingying (; born February 19, 2000, in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang) is a Chinese volleyball player. She is the outside hitter of China women's national volleyball team. Currently she plays for Tianjin Bohai Bank. Career Li’s sports career began in 2014, when she joined the Chinese U18 girls' volleyball team. They won the bronze medal at the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship and she was awarded Best Outside Spiker of the tournament. In 2016, Li began professional career with Tianjin, a top team that plays in the Chinese League.
