2021–22 Utah Utes Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Utah Runnin' Utes men's basketball team represented the University of Utah during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by first-year head coach Craig Smith. They played their home games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah as members of the Pac-12 Conference. The Utes finished the season 11–20, 4–16 in Pac-12 play to finish in 11th place. They lost in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament to Washington. Previous season In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Utes finished the 2020–21 season 12–13, 7–11 in Pac-12 play to finish in eighth place. They defeated Washington in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament before losing to USC in the quarterfinals. Craig Smith (basketball, Born 1972)
Craig Francis Smith (born December 14, 1972) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head coach for the Utah Utes men's team of the Big 12 Conference until 2025. He served as an assistant for Tim Miles at four schools – Mayville State, North Dakota State, Colorado State, and Nebraska. Smith was also the head coach at Mayville State from 2004 to 2007, at South Dakota from 2014 to 2018, and at Utah State from 2018 to 2021. Early life and education Born in Stephen, Minnesota, Smith graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in secondary education and Northern State University in South Dakota with a master's degree in education in 1999. Larry Krystkowiak
Larry Brett Krystkowiak ( ; born September 23, 1964) is a retired American professional basketball player, and former head coach of the Utah Utes men's basketball team. Early life Krystkowiak was born in Missoula, Montana, to Bernard and Helen Krystkowiak. At a young age, his mother always encouraged Larry to participate in sports. His mother died of Hodgkin's lymphoma when he was eight years old and his father remarried. He primarily grew up in Shelby, Montana, and his step-mother did not approve of Larry playing sports. At the age of 15, Larry moved out of Shelby and finished his high school career at Big Sky High School in Missoula. During this time he lived with his older brother Bernie, who became Larry's legal guardian. The Siena Saints men's basketball team (formerly the Siena Indians) represents Siena College in Loudonville, New York, Loudonville, New York (state), New York, United States. The NCAA Division I program competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the annual Franciscan Cup. The Saints are currently coached by Gerry McNamara. The Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team is the college basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Pelle Gustav Gösta Larsson (born 23 February 2001) is a Swedish professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Utah Utes and the Arizona Wildcats.
