2021–22 UConn Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by fourth-year head coach Dan Hurley in the team's second season since their return to the Big East Conference. The Huskies played their home games at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut and the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. They finished the season 23–10, 13–6 in Big East play to finish in third place. UConn defeated Seton Hall in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals of the Big East tournament where they lost to Villanova. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West Region, where they were upset in the First Round by New Mexico State 70–63. Dan Hurley
Daniel S. Hurley (born January 16, 1973) is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach of the UConn Huskies. In 2023 and 2024, Hurley led UConn to back-to-back NCAA Division I national championships. He previously coached at Rhode Island and Wagner. Throughout his career, Hurley has been known for his intensity and enthusiasm. His high level of passion on the sidelines and heated interactions with referees became defining aspects of his coaching style. Joshua Euria Carlton (born February 26, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Hong Kong Bulls of the National Basketball League. He played college basketball for the UConn Huskies and the Houston Cougars. High school career Carlton played his freshman season at South Central High School in Winterville, North Carolina. His family moved to the Washington, D.C. area after his sophomore season and he enrolled at DeMatha Catholic High School. Carlton befriended teammate and future NBA player Markelle Fultz at DeMatha. The George Washington Revolutionaries men's basketball team represents George Washington University in Washington, D.C. They play their home games in the Charles E. James David Bouknight ( ; born September 18, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Rip City Remix of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the UConn Huskies.
