2021–22 Temple Owls Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Temple Owls men's basketball team represented Temple University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Owls, led by third-year head coach Aaron McKie, played their home games at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a member of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 17–12, 10–7 in AAC Play to finish in 4th place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the AAC tournament to Tulane. Previous season In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Owls finished the 2020–21 season 5–11, 4–10 in AAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They lost in the first round of the conference tournament to South Florida. Aaron McKie
Aaron Fitzgerald McKie (born October 2, 1972) is an American basketball coach and former professional basketball player who played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently the special advisor for athletics at his alma mater Temple University. From 2019 until 2023 he served as the head coach for the Temple men's basketball team. Selected by the Portland Trail Blazers 17th overall in the 1994 NBA draft, McKie spent time as a point guard, shooting guard or small forward throughout his professional playing career from 1994 to 2007. High school basketball career McKie attended Philadelphia's Simon Gratz High School, where he was a letterman in basketball. He played on the same team as future NBA player Rasheed Wallace. UC Riverside Highlanders Men's Basketball
The UC Riverside Highlanders men's basketball team represents the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference and their head coach is Gus Argenal, who is in his first year with the program. The Highlanders play their home games at the Student Recreation Center Arena. The program had its greatest success as a Division II program, making it to three Final Fours and the national title game in 1995. In 2020, the future of the program was placed into doubt, as UC Riverside's leadership reportedly began considering cutting the university's entire athletics department in response to financial strain caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Zach Hicks (born April 22, 2003) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. He played college basketball for Temple and Penn State.
