2021–22 Northeastern Huskies Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2021–22 Northeastern Huskies Men's ice hockey season was the 90th season of play for the program. They represented Northeastern University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season and for the 2021–22 Hockey East men's ice hockey season, 38th season in the Hockey East conference. The Huskies were coached by Jerry Keefe, in his first season, and played their home games at Matthews Arena. Season In the offseason, Northeaster reshuffled its athletic department with former hockey head coach Jim Madigan being promoted to Athletic Director and former assistant Jerry Keefe taking his place at the helm of the program. Northeastern Huskies Men's Ice Hockey
The Northeastern Huskies men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I college ice hockey program that represents Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. The team has competed in Hockey East since 1984 and has won three tournament titles, having previously played in the Eastern College Athletic Conference ( ECAC), where they won one tournament championship. The Huskies play home games at the 4,666-seat Matthews Arena, the world's oldest hockey arena still in use. Devon Levi
Devon Levi (born December 27, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). Levi was the MVP at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge. He was then the 2019–20 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) MVP and Top Goalie, and the 2019–20 Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) MVP and Top Goaltender. He was drafted 212th overall by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL entry draft, and in 2021 his rights were traded to the Buffalo Sabres. He played for the Canadian national junior ice hockey team at the 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. The team won the silver medal, and Levi ended the tournament with a .964 save percentage (SV%) (topping the all-time record established by Carey Price in 2007). 2021–22 UMass Lowell River Hawks Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2021–22 UMass Lowell River Hawks Men's ice hockey season was the 55th season of play for the program, the 39th season competing at the Division I level, and the 38th season in the Hockey East conference. The River Hawks represented the University of Massachusetts Lowell and were coached by Norm Bazin, in his 11th season. Season Lowell got off to a great start to their season, going nine consecutive games without a loss that included four wins against ranked teams. The primary reason for the early success was from the River Hawks' defense, particularly the stellar goaltending from Owen Savory. By the end of November, Savory was among the national leaders with 1.10 goals against average and 3 shutouts through just 9 games. The men's tournament in ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics took place in Beijing, China between 9 and 20 February 2022. 2021–22 LIU Sharks Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2021–22 LIU Sharks men's ice hockey season was the 2nd season of play for the program. The Sharks represented Long Island University and were coached by Brett Riley, in his 2nd season. Season After the COVID-19 pandemic curtailed the program's first season, LIU was able to pay its first full campaign in 2022. Partly due to the recent addition of the team to the Division I ranks, Long Island scheduled several games against Division II teams during the season. While none of these games helped the Sharks in improving their standing (only games against D-I teams are included in PairWise rankings), they won each match comfortably. Against their contemporaries, the Sharks were less successful but the team did show some flashes of potential throughout the year.
