2021–22 Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Minnesota Golden Gophers women's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Gophers, led by fourth-year head coach Lindsay Whalen, played their home games at Williams Arena and compete as members of the Big Ten Conference. The Golden Gophers are currently 14-17 and 7–11 in Big Ten play to finish in tenth place. As the tenth seed in the Big Ten tournament, they were defeated by Northwestern in the second round. They were not invited to the NCAA Tournament, but were chosen as an at-large team for the WNIT. Previous season The Golden Gophers finished the season 8–13 and 7–11 in Big Ten play to finish in tenth place. Lindsay Whalen
Lindsay Marie Whalen (born May 9, 1982) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Whalen played college basketball at the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's basketball, University of Minnesota, and led the team to its only NCAA tournament Final Four appearance in 2004. Selected fourth overall in the 2004 WNBA draft by the Connecticut Sun, Whalen played for 15 seasons in the WNBA with the Sun and the Lynx, and is considered one of the best Point guard, point guards in WNBA history. Whalen won two World titles and two Olympic gold medals with the United States women's national basketball team, as well as four WNBA championships with the Minnesota Lynx. She retired from playing professional basketball at the end of the 2018 season as the WNBA's career leader in games won (323). Kansas Jayhawks Women's Basketball
The Kansas Jayhawks women's basketball team represents the University of Kansas and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. The Jayhawks are coached by Brandon Schneider. New Berlin Eisenhower Middle/High School is a combination middle school and high school located in New Berlin, Wisconsin, United States.
