2021–22 Louisville Cardinals Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Louisville Cardinals women's basketball team represented the University of Louisville during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cardinals, were led by 15th-year head coach Jeff Walz, and played their home games at the KFC Yum! Center in their eight year in the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 29–5 overall and 16–2 in 2021–22 Atlantic Coast Conference women's basketball season, ACC play to finish in second place. Jeff Walz
Jeffrey Jacob Walz (born October 27, 1971) is the head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of Louisville. In his second year as a head coach, he guided his team to a national championship appearance at the 2009 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, and led the Cardinals to a second championship game appearance in 2013 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, 2013. High school Walz attended Highlands High School (Fort Thomas, Kentucky), Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. College Walz completed his undergraduate studies at Northern Kentucky University, Northern Kentucky, attending on a basketball scholarship. The 2020–21 Wake Forest Demon Deacons women's basketball team represented Wake Forest University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Demon Deacons, were led by ninth year head coach Jen Hoover, are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and played their home games at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Demon Deacons finished the season 12–13 and 8–10 in ACC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. As the ninth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated North Carolina in the Second Round before losing to Louisville in the Quarterfinals. Elizabeth Balogun
Elizabeth Balogun (born 9 September 2000) is a Nigerian basketball player. She played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils and the Nigerian national team. She plays for the Spanish Liga Femenina de Baloncesto side CB Bembire. High school career Balogun transferred to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, Tennessee, in the eighth grade from Lagos, Nigeria. She averaged 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, and 2.1 assists. She made the ALL-USA Girls Basketball First Team at the end of high school. College career Balogun started as a freshman at Georgia Tech in 2018. She left the team for Louisville after being named the 2018–19 Freshman of the Year, having averaged 14.64 points per game in her freshman season.
