2021–22 Lafayette Leopards Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Lafayette Leopards men's basketball team represented Lafayette College in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Leopards, led by 27th-year head coach Fran O'Hanlon, played their home games at the Kirby Sports Center in Easton, Pennsylvania as members of the Patriot League. The Leopards finished the season 10–20, 7–11 in Patriot League play, to finish in a tie for seventh place. In the Patriot League tournament, they were defeated in overtime by Bucknell in the first round. During the season, on January 21, longtime head coach Fran O'Hanlon announced that he would retire at the end of the season, ending his 27-year run as the head coach. On March 29, Colgate assistant Mike Jordan was named as O'Hanlon's successor. Fran O'Hanlon
Francis Brian O'Hanlon (born August 24, 1948) is a retired American college basketball coach who was the head men's basketball coach at Lafayette College from 1995 to 2022. Formative years Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1948, O'Hanlon was a 1970 graduate of Villanova Wildcats men's basketball, Villanova University, where he played college basketball, including during a 1970 NCAA Tournament basketball game against Saint Bonaventure in which Bob Lanier was tripped up and injured in a collision with Chris Ford. Professional career O'Hanlon played professional basketball for the Miami Floridians of the ABA in the 1970–71 season despite being a Philadelphia 76ers draft pick in the 8th round of the 1970 NBA draft. Farmington Hills is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northwestern suburb of Detroit, Farmington Hills is located roughly from downtown Detroit. Carrier Dome
The JMA Wireless Dome, originally the Carrier Dome (1980–2022), is a domed stadium in Syracuse, New York, United States. Located on the campus of Syracuse University in the University Hill neighborhood, it is home to the Syracuse Orange football, basketball, and lacrosse teams. In 2006–07, the women's basketball team began playing home games in the Carrier Dome. In May 2022, Syracuse University announced in April 2022 that Carrier Global Corp. would no longer hold naming rights to the venue. 2021–22 Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Orange were led by 46th-year head coach Jim Boeheim and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York as ninth-year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Orange finished the season 16–17 overall and 9–11 in ACC play to finish in ninth place. As the ninth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated eighth seed Florida State in the Second Round before losing to first seed Duke in the Quarterfinals. Allendale is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
