The 2021–22 season was Huddersfield Town's 113th year in their history and third consecutive season in the Championship. Along with the league, the club also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Following the departure of Christopher Schindler at the end of the previous season, Jonathan Hogg was confirmed as the new captain on 29 June 2021. Huddersfield Town A
Huddersfield is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district. The town is in the foothills of the Pennines. The River Holme's confluence into the similar-sized Colne is to the south of the town centre which then flows into the Calder in the north eastern outskirts of the town. The rivers around the town provided soft water required for textile treatment in large weaving sheds; this made it a prominent mill town with an economic boom in the early part of the Victorian era Industrial Revolution. Christopher Schindler
Christopher Wolfgang Georg August Schindler (; born 29 April 1990) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. After beginning his career with 1860 Munich, he moved to English club Huddersfield Town in 2016, with whom he secured promotion to the Premier League. He joined Nürnberg in 2021 and has also played for Germany's U21s. Club career Schindler began his career with his hometown team, TSV 1860 Munich. He was named captain of the team after Julian Weigl was suspended to the second squad and fined for disciplinary reasons early in the 2014–15 season. After making over 200 appearances for 1860 Munich's first and second teams, Schindler joined English Championship club Huddersfield Town on 29 June 2016. Joshua Andrew Bernard Ruffels (born 23 October 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Huddersfield Town. He will become a free agent on 30 June 2025. Early life Ruffels was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire. Harry Stefano Toffolo (born 19 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who most recently played as a left-back for club Nottingham Forest. Career Norwich City Toffolo was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and grew up in Watton-at-Stone where he supported Chelsea. He joined Norwich City in 2008 as an under-14 player.
