2021–22 Grambling State Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Grambling State Tigers men's basketball team represented Grambling State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by fifth-year head coach Donte Jackson, played their home games at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in Grambling, Louisiana as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The Tigers finished the season 12–20, 9–9 in SWAC play, to finish in a tie for sixth place. In the SWAC tournament, they defeated Southern in the quarterfinals before losing to second-seeded Texas Southern in the semifinals. Donte Jackson (basketball)
Donte Jackson (born January 19, 1979) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs basketball, Alabama A&M Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He was previously head coach of the Grambling State Tigers men's basketball, Grambling State Tigers. In 2024, he led the Tigers to their first SWAC tournament championship in program history and their first ever 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Playing career After a standout high school career in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jackson attended Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball, Milwaukee for one season. 2021–22 Texas Tech Red Raiders Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represented Texas Tech University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The Red Raiders were led by first-year coach Mark Adams. They played their home games at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. They finished the season 27–10, 12–6 in Big 12 play to finish in third place. In the Big 12 tournament, they defeated Iowa State and Oklahoma to advance to the championship game, but lost to Kansas.
