2021–22 Derby County F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season is Derby County's 138th season in existence, their 14th consecutive season in the Championship, and their 54th season overall in the second division of English football. Alongside the Championship, they also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Derby were relegated after finishing in 23rd place in the league following a points deduction. The season covers the period from July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Administration On 22 September 2021, the EFL released a statement stating Derby were given a 12-point deduction in accordance with regulations after entering administration. On 16 November, Derby were deducted a further nine points after admitting to breaching EFL accounting rules. Meadow Lane Stadium is a football stadium in Nottingham, England. It is the home ground of Notts County, who have played there since it opened in 1910. The stadium was also home to Notts County Ladies F.C. from 2014 until 2017. It currently has an all-seated capacity of 18,816 for National League games, although its maximum capacity is 20,229. Max Andrew Bird (born 18 September 2000) is an English footballer who can play either as a defensive midfielder or central midfielder for club Derby County. He made his first-team debut in September 2017, aged 16. Career Having progressed through the Derby County Academy, Bird made his debut for the first team against Barnsley in the EFL Cup on 12 September 2017. Moor Lane, known as the Peninsula Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a football ground in the Kersal area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England, which has a capacity of 5,108 and is the home of Salford City Football Club. Jordan Robert Turnbull (born 30 October 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central defender for League Two club Tranmere Rovers. Turnbull began his career with the academy of Southampton, signing his first professional contract in 2013 and spending two seasons on loan at Swindon Town. He signed for Coventry City in 2016, and won the EFL Trophy in 2017 before suffering relegation.
